Sometimes things go different, that would be the first thing to say, while listening to The Amber Herd from Nottingham (UK). Neil Beards (guitar and vocals) and Paul Wentworth (bass and vocals) share the singing parts and get assisted by Mark Lasbury (drums), Ollie Powditch (keyboards) and Rob Flitzmaurice (bass).
The voices of Neil and Paul couldn't be more different and both are more than impressing. The whole music brings oneself back into the 70s when the last hippie combos disappeared and get replaced by bands like Bowie. And somewhere between this oneself could think The Amber Herd are, though they only exist since 2007.
The EP "This Town" is a successful mixture to get to know the band and especially on "Leaving Home", sung by Neil and "Catching Time", sung by Paul the two voice forces are good to compare.
In the whole the EP is a successful piece and if you want to relax on a summer evening, while the warm breeze floats around oneself and you only want to listen to music, then The Amber Herd is one of the best recommendations since ages.
